Choose Case
How to build it
Prepare workspace
Work on a non-carpet surface. Ground yourself. Open the case side panel and keep screws organised.
Install CPU on motherboard
Select a CPU first. Align the triangle marker, lower the CPU straight down, then close the retention arm.
Install RAM
Pick RAM that matches your board (DDR4 or DDR5). Populate the dual-channel slots first.
Mount cooler
Choose a cooler rated for your CPU TDP. Ensure case clearance before buying a tall dual-tower cooler.
Install motherboard in case
Fit the I/O shield, place standoffs for your board size (ATX / mATX / ITX), then secure the motherboard.
Install storage & GPU
Install an NVMe SSD in the top M.2 slot when possible. Add a GPU if you need dedicated graphics.
Power supply & cables
Pick a PSU with enough wattage headroom, then route 24-pin, CPU, and GPU cables cleanly.
First boot checklist
Connect monitor to the GPU (not motherboard) if discrete GPU is installed. Enable XMP/EXPO for RAM, install chipset drivers, then GPU drivers.
