The responsible party is Enigma Bytes (PTY) Ltd. (“Enigma Bytes”, “we”, “us”).

For privacy requests, contact us at the email above (information officer / privacy contact).

2. What we collect

When you create an account or contact us, we may process:

  • Identity and contact details (name, email, phone, company)
  • Account security data (password is stored only as a secure hash)
  • Service preferences (e.g. marketing opt-in)
  • Messages you send (support, quotes, SLA requests)

We aim to collect only what we need for the purpose (data minimisation).

3. Why we process your information

  • To create and secure your customer account
  • To provide IT support, procurement, SLA, websites and related services
  • To respond to quotes and support requests
  • With your optional consent: marketing about products and services
  • To meet legal obligations where applicable

4. Lawful basis (POPIA)

We process personal information with your consent (account registration), and/or where necessary to conclude or perform a contract with you (service delivery), and where required by law. Marketing is optional and can be withdrawn in your account.

5. Sharing & operators

We do not sell your personal information. We may use trusted operators (e.g. hosting, email, payment providers such as PayFast) under appropriate agreements, only as needed to run the service.

6. Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, and access controls appropriate to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we take reasonable technical and organisational measures.

7. Your rights

Under POPIA you may request to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct or update inaccurate information
  • Delete or destroy information (subject to legal retention needs)
  • Object to processing for direct marketing
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa)

In your online account you can update details, export your data, and delete the account. You can also email support@enigmabytes.co.za.

8. Retention

We keep account data while your account is active and as needed for services, disputes, or legal requirements. When you delete your account, we remove the profile data stored for that account in our customer portal.

9. Children

Our services are directed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 18 without competent person consent.

10. Changes

We may update this notice. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes may be highlighted on the website or by email where appropriate.

This notice is provided for transparency and is not formal legal advice. For complex compliance questions, consult your attorney or the Information Regulator.
